You enjoy the power. We take care of the system.

Your power purchase agreement (PPA) includes all operation and maintenance for the full 25-year term. Your payment covers ongoing system care, so you don’t have to manage the technical work yourself. Service details are set out in your agreement.

The goal: make more of your energy at home and buy less from HECO. Your total cost includes the package payment plus remaining HECO charges. We’ll review your usage and site before confirming a fit. Bill amount alone does not determine the right package or guarantee savings.

Does this go on my roof?+

No. The solar panels are on a carport over your parking area. Your property must still be reviewed for space, access, and installation requirements.

Will I still receive a utility bill?+

The goal is a much smaller HECO bill. Solar and stored battery energy help reduce the electricity you buy from the grid. HECO still bills you for required customer or grid-related fees, plus any electricity you need from the grid. Those rates and fees are set by HECO, outside our control. Your remaining bill depends on your household’s use and final system design; it may be more than fees alone.

Will the battery keep everything running?+

When HECO power goes out, the battery can supply power to the parts of your home connected to it. We’ll review those connections, called circuits, so you know what can stay on during a blackout. Focus on essentials such as your refrigerator, a few lights, and charging your phone. Air conditioning and other large appliances use stored energy faster. The less you use, the longer your battery can support your family. Runtime also depends on the starting charge and final system design. The application’s estimate counts battery energy only, without solar recharging.

Who takes care of the system?+

Operation and maintenance are included in your PPA payment for the full 25-year term. We take care of running and maintaining the system, so you don’t have to manage the technical work. The agreement explains the service details.

Does applying mean I am approved?+

No. This initial application starts the review. It does not approve financing, authorize a credit check, or sign a power purchase agreement.

Can I save my application and return later?+

Your progress is not saved. Have your electricity bill ready before you begin. Closing or refreshing this page will clear your entries. Once you submit, your application is shared only with HI PAWA and our finance partner to begin the underwriting and approval process. You’ll review what will be shared and give consent before sending. Submission itself does not authorize a credit check or approve financing.
